Surfin' Bird - Rockefeller Frequency - Buick Six

Last night these three bands played @ Club 299 in the Valley. It was a great night spent with great people. The venue wasn't the best though, between each band there were various outbursts of metalcore - not saying that it is a bad thing, it just didn't fit the vibe at all.

Surfin' Bird were really good, really simple/straight to the point/fun and energetic. Rockefeller Frequency reminded me of an angry version of R.E.M, and the lead singer looked like Rivers Cuomo. There were some real sweet riffs in their music too. Buick Six were really great too, full of crafty songs and slushy amounts of reverb and delay.

Overall there weren't too many people at the gig but it was a great night nonetheless.

Quote of the night:

what happened to your other guitarist? - Charles
